Infrastructure and Leader Support (ILS) Program: want to join us?

The questions below will help us get to know you a bit deeper. Thanks for taking some time to find out if ILS might be the right fit for you and your organization.

Instead of building a vetting process around efficiency or bureaucracy, we’ve tried to build something that feels more human. Our ‘get-to-know-you’ process is designed to help us understand you as a leader, your organization’s needs, and how we might best work together. It’s important to everyone at HNC that we work alongside leaders and organizations who share our values.

We care first and foremost about the people we work with, and we know no one is perfect. With more traditional applications, there can be a pressure to “put your best foot forward.” We don’t want you to do that here. The more detailed and honest you can be, the better we’ll be able to tell which of HNC’s supports might be helpful.

For example, if your books are a mess and you’re worried about getting in trouble with the IRS, that’s fine: we love helping with the really sticky stuff. Feel free to share whatever feels relevant and know that there’s really no judgement here!

Please share your responses to the following questions by clicking the button at the bottom of this page.

  1. How did you hear about HNC and ILS? What did you hear? What about what you heard made you want to get involved?

  2. Thinking about what you know about ILS, what part of working with HNC is most exciting to you?

  3. What are potential roadblocks or issues that you foresee? (For example, not being an incorporated organization or transferring from a current fiscal sponsor.)

  4. What is your organization great at? (Or, what could you potentially be great at if you had the right resources?)

  5. What do you imagine would be different for you personally and your organization if you participated in ILS?

  6. What are the biggest issues related to your organization that you want to address through ILS?

  7. What (if anything) about HNC’s model, mission, vision, values - whatever, really! - resonates with you?

  8. Is there anything else that would be helpful for us to know or that you’d like to tell us about?

Choose one of the following formats and use it to answer the questions. Take as much or as little time (or number of pages) as you need. Here’s how much space/time people usually take:

  • 2-4 pages written (pdf or Word doc please!)

  • 3-5 minutes video

  • 3-5 minutes audio

On the form we’ll also ask a few questions about when you’d ideally start the process of Fiscal Sponsorship and set up of infrastructure. This could depend on a bunch of things like how busy you might be, how urgent you feel your need is and when your current Fiscal Sponsorship Agreement ends (if you have one).
